I have been noticing many haitian websites do not update regularly.
Take FKD for instance, up to last night was posted on their main landing page “The White Party”. Dated November 22nd 2006.
Click Continue then you are presented with “Krezi Album Release Party” dated November 25th 2006.
Here is a piece of advice to many Haitian companies who want a site. Its best that you go with a php script that is easier to manage instead of having to fool around with an FTP client every time.
We can make Haitian events more attractive by working on some of those minor details.

For the new year, MySpace announced and upgrade for all accounts. You can now upload up to 300 pictures to your profile compare to the 20 cap they previously had.
Who has 300 pics to upload on my space?
I was today visiting random profiles trying to figure out who started using uploading more than 20.
I found 2 interesting profile, on which the user uploaded Trojan condom pictures and the other one where the user uploaded many x-rated pictures which link you to this page (DO NOT LOGIN, ITS A SCAM)

So is 300 good or just another useless addition?
What about adding a Haitian Community huh Tom?

I recently watched on BambochTV.com a show that I believe followed the night life oh the Marteli sons.
I hear many Haitian Artist complain about copyright issues, where group of people make copies of their music or albums and re-sell them at lower prices.
Well I don’t agree with this concept either, but it is done.
In that show aired on December 30th, King Kino was having a discussion with Michel Marteli aka Sweet Micky where Kino talks about a new Music released by Tabou combo. Kino later propose a (bootleg) copy of the CD to Martelli and another present person

The Pictures above are form the netcast where Kino was proposing the CD. Where does our culture stand if we cannot support others, If we cannot follow our own principles.

I was invited on December 29th at the Miss Haiti International 2006, which I believe is a great Initiative but yet needs serious improvement. People just don’t care anymore about Haiti’s Image.
What can we do?
That was a question asked to one of the contestants to which she answered by saying that our streets needed cleanup and more. OK, nice but in my humble opinion I taught she would propose a plan to educate us Haitians about how to care more about our country, which will push more of us to love our heritage and culture.
If you were granted one last wish, what would it be?
To this question another contestant replied ” I would love to go to an Island with my family, where there is no cell phone and live happily”
Really I wonder where is Haiti’s youth going? Whatever happened to the world, Haiti, the poor. I believe this was a selfish answer specially coming from a contestant taking part of Miss Haiti 2006, where she is suppose to be an image, roll model for Haiti in the future.
I have been going to many organized events lately, from Band press release to Clubs. I every time criticized their lack of organization, but that was until I saw how Miss Haiti’s organization was executed.
From what I saw, I think the only thing they prepared or rehearsed were the music to which the contestants performed.
From the start Miss Cap-Haitien did not even know the path for her stage walk. The show host constantly had to check her paper to make sure that she had the right names. The co-show host did not even know what judge belong to what name. The sound guys played “Illegal” when “Hips don’t lie” was needed.
A Compas band playing gets more advertising than Miss Haiti.
People, including family of contestants, got on site really late; “We was home chilling dawg, we knew that s**t would start late” were the comments of a family member.
I really am not taking on them (Miss Haiti Producers), but I belive that this event was supose to be a diamond piece for Haiti’s culture. Too bad, due to an unsafe country it had to be done in Florida, but I still think that the government should have been involved for Haiti is a small country as Miss Jacmel, now Miss Haiti, said it:”Haiti needs exposure”.
We need lots of support.
Not only from the officials but also from our music industry, the bloggers, the online communities, and all other parties.
